A man was charged with drunken snowmobiling after his passenger was thrown from the sled and airlifted to Albany Medical Center Hospital on Sunday.

Joseph C. Salvione Jr., 41, of 158 Priddle Point Road, Mayfield, was charged with snowmobiling while intoxicated, snowmobiling with a blood-alcohol content of 0.08 percent or more and imprudent speed, according to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department.

Investigators say Salvione was operating a snowmobile on Great Sacandaga Lake when he left the lake and hit a snowbank. Officials did not identify the victim.
