A convicted sex offender from Rensselaer faces charges in an alleged August home invasion.
State police said Alvin DuBois, 58, forced his way into an occupied apartment in a Clifton Park complex and attempted to sexually assault a person in that apartment. His arrest follows a lengthy investigation that troopers said included matching DuBois’ DNA to evidence at the scene.
DuBois, a Level 3 sex offender as the result of a 1989 conviction, was charged with first-degree burglary and criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation. He was arraigned in the Clifton Park Town Court and sent to the Saratoga County jail without bail.
Troopers said the investigation is continuing with assistance from the Colonie Police Department.
