Note on online Letters to the Editor

The Gazette fosters and encourages a vigorous public discussion of the issues in our letters to the editor section. Unfortunately, because a small handful of online responders to our letters section have crossed the line of decency and basic standards, to the point where they are using vulgar language and intimidation, starting Aug. 25, we temporarily suspended the publication of letters on our website. We expect to resume posting letters as early as this coming week, the week of Sept. 7, with a more effective way to block the most offensive comments from being posted.

In the meantime, readers can find all letters to the editor in the print and e-editions of The Gazette.
